[Spoilers] I don't understand what Francis said and why Julia is offended by it.

Francis says something like "At least I have the Spider for company". What does that even mean and why is Julia offended by it?

The woman-killer who cut his victims' throats was called a spider. This is told at the table at 19.-20. minutes. Offended: because spider has two meanings in the movie. Spider = killer and spider = insect. As if Julia has contact with the kitchen-spider and is imagining everything.
