Beatrice was sick and couldn't do the film. Knowing that I wonder how they would've included her since it's a pretty tight script and she wouldn't have fit in with the time of the film. Unless her part was transformed into the shaman?

I remember when this movie first came out and wondering why her character didn't return in some way.

Seems she was either replaced by the Native or grandma. All three would have been a mess, especially with the inclusion of Kane. Now that's a sitcom I'd watch!
