Discuss The Castle

The movie launched 10th April 1997 in Australia! The original art is the simple blue framed group shot with yellow lettering (original untouched one has a ROADSHOW logo on the bottom right of the group shot). Don't like it? ADJUST YOUR CHOICES IN XBMC/RASPBMC!

Hi,

I deleted that one with the logo on the bottom, because it had anyway the wrong aspect ratio and is a duplicate. Everything else is not in our hand, because the user can vote for the poster. That one with the better vote is displayed. So it is a community decision which poster looks best.

Oh that wasn't my problem. Some joker made the US art the primary art and US screening the primary screening. Both incorrect. (1999? Two years out of whack!)

XBMC and RaspBMC have the option to choose from all artworks once you add a film you own. Leaving the original poster (the blue and yellow was poster and VHS art) is just respectful.

I could change "American Wedding" to "American Pie 3: The Wedding", "XXX: State of the Union" to "XXX 2: The Next Level" or "Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker" to "Batman of the Future: Return of The Joker" (real alternate titles in Australia/Europe BTW), but I never have, never will. (I even actively photoshop the original posters into the "just the title" art for Media Centers. I've done over 100 titles. And if it's not the original poster? Just add to the option pile for people to choose from in XBMC/RaspBMC.)

And do you realise the logo one isn't a duplicate but the original I tidied up? (Tidied up because it's VERY hard to find original art over here. Our population fits in NYC.)

The problem is that the poster get just tagged as english and there is no division between british english , american english etc. Maybe in the future. The user are able to vote for the poster and decide which one is displayed as primary.

US screening the primary screening

That's happened at the moment quite often apparently, but I know that in the future there might be the posibility to lock it.

Unfortunalty because of the voting system is there no influence, sometimes I like also another poster to be displayed as primary, but I have to life with the actual one because the commonalty decided it is like that. You can change it in xbmc, to what ever poster you like best.

I don't understand, where you changed it? In xbmc?

I deleted that one with the logo because it had the wrong aspect ratio and it looked clinched. The actual blue one has the perfect aspect ratio and it reflects perfectly the original, I think. Without any logos and age certifications.

"I don't understand, where you changed it? In xbmc?"

That part I was referring to pointless edits by the US for English speaking countries. ALL REAL.

The ratio may not be the exact one you're looking for, but I make sure it's valid for multiple users. (With larger image files, XBMC/OSMC adjusts it to fit, no matter your setup. Better to have higher resolution shrink than lower res blown up, no?) As for the logos, it's AN OPTION. It's not meant to be THE BEST, it's meant to be THE ORIGINAL for anyone looking for an old school "VHS in a 90s store" look in their Media Center.
