From where ate we determining this film is rated pg? My copy of the DVD, which claims to be the original theatrical release, shows NOT RATED. 
The rest of the DVDs in the same Star Trek Original Motion Picture Collection show they are rated PG.

That picture is way too small for me to distinguish anything but from what I can find, the "PG" rating is from the Director's Edition that was released in 2001. If this poster is from the original release, the original rating is "G." The rating of your specific DVD release, not the original theatrical release, is "Not Rated."
