Did Darla really have a bomb implanted in her head?

She was crazy along with them and was in love with Valmire. She was right about the secret conspiracy to her credit, but why fabricate such a story unless to gain sympathy from their victims? Maybe she was brainwashed into believing the lies and stopped questioning if she was there by force or will.

That's a good point. I think she really thought that she was a victim. In a way they could be forced into it by aliens who want humans to face esal horror. Maybe she actually has one implanted by force to go along with it or die. She said she had an ex husband out there showing she lived a normal life once before. Darla can hold down a job and eats pizza instead of human flesh. So maybe she is being guided to kill and wants to survive.
Being spied on by the CIA, could show that they monitor the family and if they don't comply they killed off like Valmoire.
