This is mostly a really solid sci fi love story, it's just plagued by truly terrible CGI, some really weird direction and peculiar costume choices. The acting is good and the story is actually a really strong premise with a lot of room for exploration and intrigue. This is one of those occasions where you think, with a vastly bigger budget and in the hands of a different director, this could have been excellent, where instead it's merely good. Nonetheless, I think a good film warrants a better rating than the mid-50s. This should be mid-60s I think.
