Discuss Pumpkinhead

Item: Pumpkinhead

Language: en

Type of Problem: Incorrect_content

Extra Details: Hey, I've been with this website for several years, yet I don't know who decides to "lock" images and make them primary. However I am constantly running into problems with the images the moderator "SWFT" has made permanent. The images are not the movie posters but usually some low res horribly photoshopped DVD image that don't even meet the required image dimensions. This is mostly with Horror movies. Now I get that images get changed and some people don't like the image, but thats what makes this website unique compared to other movie databases is that has the ability to grow and get better. Having a horrible walmart dvd cover for a classic like Pumpkinhead where there is definitely better art is an insult. I personally specialize in tracking down and collecting vintage movie posters and I am very proud to share them with this website, but when I run into this problem over and over again, its really disheartening...

Hi! We follow a simple set of rules for the primary posters: it needs to have a 1:1.5 aspect ratio, to be clean/naked (no text), and have a good image quality and resolution (>1000x1500). You can ask that we change the primary poster if it does not follow the rules or if you think there is a better quality poster. But when more than one poster qualify, it is a matter of personal preferences. It's pretty much impossible to reach a consensus.

I investigated the Pumpkinhead example and deleted one up-scaled poster (maybe the one you preferred) and one that was distorted. So which one is the best now? I think it's either the current one or the one added by Mike Costa. With regards to that I can't fault SWFT in this case for choosing one of the top 2 posters. Still, it's a subjective decision and taste may differ among moderators, but as long as we follow the directions pointed out by banana_girl above we should be able to get a good enough display poster for most movies.
