Should have cut 40 minutes out of the film, it would have been much better. There's no energy, and information is repeated over and over again. Disappointing.

Yeah, a bit too long in the latter middle, I thought. But if you could hang in there, overall I thought it was a good movie.

Yeah....a little long but it added to the mood of the movie. The struggle was a long one. I loved the movie. Ruth Negga is beautiful. The guy who played her hubby did a fantastic job!

I agree. They picked the perfect people for both roles in my opinion. The movie was slow moving, but I never lost interest at all.

For me, the movie did not feel too long. I was captivated by the acting, cinematography, and set decoration. On a personal level (I was born in 1954), I was aware of anti-miscegenation laws and the impact they had on society. The movie was meaningful for me. I think the pacing allowed me to contemplate the impact of what was happening on the screen. These were important events.

This movie gave me low blood pressure

I disagree, I think the pacing and subtly made it better. The performances were great. It was refreshing to watch a historical movie that didn't create over the top scenes to keep people "entertained", the director keeps impressing me with every movie.

this movie could've been a major cheese fest in the hands of another. His other work is similar (really liked take shelter), but a part of me was waiting for the sappy music and ridiculous speeches to start.

only person who stuck out was the dude form the league. I can't take him seriously haha

I'm currently at the 1 hour & 40 minute mark and I'm tempted to start hitting the "10 second" button on my HBO Go App...lol. It IS an overly long movie and a very very slow pace. A little "fluff" could've been left on the cutting room floor IMO.

I didn't think it was particularly long but I would have liked to have seen more of the court case at the end.
