Discuss Blindspotting

at the few scenes, although it didn't seem very realistic he would be that dumb to walk around with gun in the pocket during probation period which leads later also to unnecessary garage scene which was also extremely tense and as white European I gotta say movie made me felt how it's for these guys in their town

I liked the interpretation of living with the pressure of probation. But really it was a portrait of a couple of hoodlums, who almost killed a man after a repeated and sustained assault that continued while the victim was unconscious, but we are apparently meant to sympathise with one of them because, at least he isn't a murderer. Just a gun toating thug.

I think it was also an interesting portrait on the impact of gentrification, but again we seem to be being asked to sympathise with the other protagonist who goes out of their way to attend a party of 'hipsters' and proceeds to conduct an unprovoked assault on someone starting with a cheap shot while they weren't looking. Before discharging an illegal firearm unlawfully.

In summary, I was being asked to empathise with a pair of scumbags and watch as they rode off into the sunset with no apparent legal consequence for their vile behaviour. It's fair to say the director completely lost me on that journey but the novel setting and lead performances saved it.
