How did this zombie apocalypse start anyway?

There's a lot of talk about aliens and Are51 with the 2 soldiers, but this was never built on and we never know how the zombies began/created !!!!!

Also, being inside a basement safe is good enough to survive a nuclear bomb? The idea that there is another 'infected' person out in the open has been overdone so much! If some of those zombies are 'smart' then why didnt they use something to climb over the 3 level of containers and get outside......or even try to?

The only shock moment (if it was that) was the moment when Maria's neck was snapped! Cant believe she is that holy/sexy Sister in the convent from Nacho Libre!!!!

It was a casino safe. Many of those were built to survive pretty much anything.

A fridge was good enough for Indiana Jones and this was a significant step up from that...

The zombie apocalypse started in Las Vegas because that is where the zombie king originally escaped and infected people.

Initially, the outbreak broke out of Las Vegas strip but eventually the military was able to successfully push back and contain the outbreak within the limits of the Las Vegas strip. Next, the military setup security outposts and encampments around the perimeter of the Las Vegas strip. Any zombies that would try to escape the perimeter would eventually be eliminated and any remaining zombies in the Las Vegas strip decided to make the Las Vegas strip their kingdom/home.
