Discuss Planet of the Apes

It seems impossible that he wouldn't know he was on earth. He assumes a planet 300 light-years away from earth would have a race of beings that speak and write the English language? A planet that would have exact humans, horses, similar scriptures, and even a human-like doll? It was almost ludicrous.

Regarding Nova: Was there more to her story than we're told? How did she know to erase the letters Taylor had scribbled in the sand. Why did she do that. At one time while in the cave, she even tried to shush Taylor from talking.

I watched Beneath the Planet of the Apes before I watched this one. That movie was horrible, but this was an excellent movie. I really enjoyed it.

Taylor was the dumbest astronaut ever, I guess.

Beneath is the superior movie.

The original and Conquest and Escape are the best of the series. For some reason they kept slashing the budgets of each sequel even though they were doing well at the box office.

if the apes spoke another language they would of had to use subtitles and it would be hard for tler to communicate with th apes/

I only recalled Zaius brushing off the letters when nobody was looking. (I haven't seen this film in like 10+ years.)

Exactly but WHY would she do this? It's like she was protecting Taylor by having the Apes continue to think he was stupid. Her motives for doing this are never explained.

She was mute wasn't she? I don't think the humans could read either. Maybe she connected writing with the evil (to her) apes. Something like that.

She was just copying him by moving the dirt around with her hands.
