Two Cleopatra movies

Is there any chance of this movie still happening? I just don't see two different studios releasing two different Cleopatra movies around the same time. Both are set to start production some time between 2024-2025.
I think we'd all prefer to see Denis villeneuve Cleopatra over the one starring Gal Gadot. But ultimately, it will depend on which studio folds first.

I agree in that Cleopatra is indeed overrated, but that just comes down to being the last individual with the title of Pharaoh. Her reign ended Ptolemaic-Egypt, which many people love for the blend of Hellenistic-Egyptian cultures, but also ended what was considered to be the greatest civilization in history and the start of Roman dominance.
Personally, I would much prefer to see a movie about Egypt's greatest pharoah, Ramses the Great. But Hollywood still loves to smell its own farts and will always try to recreate the lore from 1960s Elizabeth Taylor film.
