Peter O'Toole, in an early role as a Canadian trooper, is very obviously dubbed in this film. It's really rather jarring, and disappointing to boot - after a rather dreary first half, I was looking forward to O'Toole's eventual appearance and to not be allowed to hear his golden voice is quite unfair. At least we get to see those striking blue eyes of his.

So THAT was Peter O'Toole, playing an Arctic-novice RCMP Constable? Hmm, I may look up this "got everything wrong about Inuit/Yupik culture" movie. Check out "Eskimo" (1933) for a (somewhat) more accurate look at Eskimo culture. It even boasts Inuit spoken language with English title cards. and was filmed on location! Though the source material was about Greenland natives, environmental conditions in the Canadian Arctic and Alaska were more favorable for the film crew and actors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQjVr63uBeo
