After its release - June 16, 2023 (USA) - it looked like it would be another flop, but it has rebounded and now it will be making a profit.

Profitable, but barely — I'm not sure this measures up as a "comeback", but how do you measure it?
Eileen Jones from Jacobin called the film "so boring and unmemorable that it seems like a new low for the famed animation company" in an article titled "Elemental Takes Pixar’s Propaganda to a Whole New Level."
So, finances aren't stellar, and reviews like this are hardly sparkling. If this is a comeback, I'd be interested in the benchmark by which it was determined as such.
