Biography

Kenneth Chang is a Korean American actor, writer and film director. He made his directing debut with the 2022 horror short Refuse which he also produced, co-wrote and starred in.

Kenneth was born in Los Angeles, California to Sunja, an artist and designer, and Ignatius, a property manager. From a young age, Sunja put Kenneth into music, art and public speaking classes, thus sparking his initial interest in storytelling.

He attended John Burroughs Middle School and it was there that he began writing and directing films using videotape camcorders. Many of his teachers allowed him to submit films for his semester finals which catalyzed his love for filmmaking. He then attended Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School where he continued to create short films for classes. Additionally, Kenneth competed in public speaking competitions through Academic Decathlon and scholarship contests.

He was admitted to UCLA where he took his first acting for film course and upon graduation he spent a few years acting in co-star roles in different network TV shows like Southland (TNT), Rizzoli and Isles (TNT) and The Middle (ABC) . From then Kenneth started his career as a public speaker and has spent nearly 20 years speaking on the subjects of theology, ethics and spiritual flourishing. He eventually received his Masters in Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary and continues to give messages of hope to young people throughout Los Angeles.
