Choi Min-sik begann als Theaterschauspieler, bis er ab 1992 auch in Serien und Filmen mitspielte. Seinen ersten gefeierten Auftritt hatte er dabei in dem 1999 gedrehten "Shiri". 2003 folgte dann mit der von Kritikern und Publikum hoch gelobten Darstellung des Oh Dae-su in "Oldboy" der Sprung zum Superstar in Asien. Nach seinem letzten Film im Jahr 2005 widmete er sich wieder vermehrt dem Theater. |
