Discuss Felicity Huffman

Although what she did that wound her up in trouble was very wrong, how she handled herself and everything about the situation once she was found out, and her humble display of apparent sincere contrition, was spot-on perfect. I think she'll actually be able to relatively quickly make a fully successful complete career comeback, as not too much "image" destruction resulted.

On the other hand, Lori Loughlin's response to her own situation has right from the get-go been the exact opposite of a class act, appropriate, or satisfactory, and I think it's pretty much a permanent done deal already that her career is kaput and that her reputation and image are shot for keeps. If she winds up in the slammer for several months or multiple years, I don't think anyone's going to feel at all sorry for her or care, as it's clear she's guilty as all get out and is not at all sorry - she's only sorry that she got caught and that she and her family have been found out to be a bunch of fakers and elitist frauds.

Hello, Genplant,

Congrats on your promotion to Moderator. Nobody matches your knowlege of TMDb, to be sure.

Well, agree that Miss Huffman seems very lovely, humble, fair, honorable, just and elegant. Haven't seen her in anything, but I think that the system is too hard on her, considering everything much worse with which politicians are getting away these days.

Agree that Felicity's public response has proven her to remain of great conscience and equity.

Yes, Miss Loughlin and family have a few things left "to learn" about college admission scandals. Haven't seen her in anything since she took up with John Stamos on television, which, nothing personal there, but who wouldn't envy that, right?

But also, this entire college admissions scandal saga really ought to open discussions about various other ways in which "institutes of higher learning" do not play on level fields.

Let's just say that some don't want to play those behind-the-scenes games, while others show willingness to bend the rules into their personal favor. This is without getting into social standing, background, and other particular identities because....

Well, let's just say that it's a proven fact that the Powers That Be do not particularly care for most students to become more "accomplished" than they because they want to call the shots and control everybody, and sometimes even their own teacher's pets.

Good post, Genplant!

Thank you very much, my friend, for the Congrats and the kind words! It's greatly appreciated!

Yes: Miss Huffman has behaved and presented herself admirably regarding the facing of her predicament.

On the other hand, Lori Loughlin? The exact opposite.

If you have never seen the TV series Sports Night where she is one of the stars of a great ensemble cast, you should check it out.

It was only two seasons long and TV Guide said it was the best show on TV that no one was watching.

It's a behind the scenes look at a show like ESPN's Sportscenter, but while a love for sports enhances the enjoyment of the show, it's really not necessary.

Harrison, I remember reading really good reviews of Sports Night, back when it was on the air. I never watched that series, but remember TV Guide magazine (that I've been ongoingly subscribed to for decades) once deeming it "The Best Series You're Not Watching".

During I believe last year's season of PBS' Finding Your Roots documentary series, Felicity Huffman's genealogy was the focus of one of the episodes. She came off really well in that episode, and I very much liked everything about her and her nice, genuine-seeming persona and kindly way.
