Discuss Mad Men

Was thinking of Mad Men while watching The Founder - waiting for Don Draper to order burger & fries haha! Then do some advertising for them.

Ray Kroc's from salesman to millionaire - also kinda reminded me of Draper (Don's more charming)

And having an affair with a married woman, played by same actress - Linda Cardellini more attractive in The Founder. Plus the husbands were friends with Ray/Don.

Oh the 60s lol one of my fave Mad Men scenes: Don, Peggy & Campbell eating at a fast food like McDonalds.

I'll definitely watch The Founder now that I've read your post! Yes, I loved the Burger Chef scene. I remember when Burger Chef was around back in the day. Much better hamburgers than McDonalds!

Burger Chef's real? hehe I only know of Mc Donalds, Burger King, Jack in the Box hmm In & Out. And yes that scene was sweet & awesome, they really look up to Don - despite everything.

At first I didn't recognise Linda C. as she's blonde in The Founder. Really liked that film esp the story of Mc Donald brothers - don't want to spoil, go check it out!

Oh yes! Burger Chef was a real chain! I grew up in West Texas and they were there before anyone saw a McDonald's! In fact Burger Chef was still in business in 1976 --- that's when I graduated from high school and it was sort of a hang out place. I think the chain was in decline by then though. By 1976 there were a lot of McDonald's around.

Cool, that's what I liked in Mad Men, seeing real/familiar products as their clients. Maybe Burger Chef was only in USA. Plus the quality of fast food then must be different - like after seeing The Founder - the MD brothers must be shaking their head at the quality of their food now.
