Discuss Luther

No, that's not me being silly. Those are the words of the BBC's head of diversity.

Their 'diversity chief' obviously knows NOTHING about the show! If they did they would know that Luther doesn't have ANY friends!

The series is beautiful, well done, and the characters are well characterized. The only thing is that Luther is a bit "lame".... happen all to him, not even if he was Donald Duck!

?

Is the translation of "sfigato" not good? If you know Donald Duck you know that he is nice but a bit of a loser and all the misfortunes are for him

You're right "sfigato" does translate to loser but your use of the words lame & Donald Duck was confusing. I never considered Luther to be a loser though, just unlucky.

Yes indeed. Very very very unlucky because so many bad things happen to him at the same time. It sounds like overkill. I just watched the second season. Very compelling and beautiful. I really appreciated the short duration (4 episodes) and the fact that they didn't drag it out in 12/13 episodes like others do.

I would prefer at least 6 like the first season BUT what I DO NOT LIKE is the long time between seasons! There was a year between one & two, two years between two & three, two & a half between three & four, & three years between four & five! I realize that Elba was busy with other things after the second season but...? That is one thing that bothers me about TV series' from the UK, there is so much time between the seasons.
