I re-watched this on Amazon Prime and was wondering if any of the American soldier characters were gay. Unless I missed something they were all straight. There were some gay Iraqis.

They hinted, pretty strongly, that Rudy was homosexual.

If he was, is body-building how to survive being gay in the Marines? No one would pick on or bully someone who could beat them up? The series seemed realistic in some ways and I wonder about the real Marine Corps. Someone is suspected of being gay, is called names, but that's as far as it goes; he is not ostracized, picked on, bullied or continuously harassed until he's run out of the corps.
