Discuss Knight Rider

Item: Мандрівний лицар

Language: uk

Type of Problem: Bad_image

Extra Details:

The first season is supplied by a poster anew. If somebody does not see the difference, here is explanation: the old poster ratio is not 1.5, so actually the title is shrinked when in the seasons view.
That is why I added new posters to all seasons about ten days ago. Now all of them are eliminated here without reasonable point.
Please, tell me whether the new added poster is bad or not, and is there a reason why the rest of seasons can not be supplied with Ukrainian posters?
Thank you

PS: And by the way, why the eliminator of Ukrainian posters does not delete the English poster here for the 'Specials' section that is not correct here as content because taken from another series? The specials poster here is from Knight Rider 2000

I checked the changelogs for the season and didn't see any uploads by you. There cannot have been deletions if the content hasn't been added :P

P.S: then should we also remove knight rider 2000 from the specials? :D:D (I agree with that tbh, keeping movies in specials is just crazy, that's what the movie section is for, but for now that's at least still allowed I suppose)

Hmm. You know, it's not my habbit to pile materials or create mirrors of whole sites I contributed to. So today I just checked that processed materials are at their TMDB places before deleting oldies from my PC. Finally, no posters of these episodes, but they are marked as processed. I believe your log analysis, it might be a problem in my logs after not finished upload. Thank you a lot for response. Have a good day!

Anyway, to whom it may concern: is it a place for 'Knight Rider 2000' materials?

If the wikipedia article is correct (I don't have time to check), this movie was a sequel to the series, or, to be even more precise:

"The movie served as a pilot for a proposed new series, but despite high ratings, the plan was abandoned.

[...]

As well as being available as a single DVD, it is included in the Region 1, Region 2 and Region 4 versions of the Knight Rider Season One box set."

I'm not sure under which definition this falls according to the Contribution Bible?!? thinking

@janar72

Sure, the above information is very valuable when we decide how to better place the material: as a separate movie or as a part of series. But, no matter which variant to choose, the material has not to be duplicated or semi-duplicated. All another is a way to chaos. It may look not chaotic now, but it most likely be after time.

As an example, examine the Beetleborgs materials. It was placed as 'Big Bad Beetleborgs' at the IMDb, and its 2nd season was placed there separately as 'Beetleborgs Metalix series' (not the existing movie). Then the materials were copied to the TMDB after some years, then this semi-true info spread widen among the subsidiaries of TMDB... Until this info was stopped at a Ukrainian subsidiary, and now I cannot find it parted at IMDb or TMDB, but it's still exist on the subsidiary... May be waiting for someone to take it back to TMDB after some years grin

PS: Please, understand all this correct. As for me, I do don't like such primitive and outdated movies and series as Beetleborgs or Knight Rider or may be Evening-Night-Morning Rider... My concern and spending time here is an objective information that might be clear and liable to anyone. That's it.

PPS: As to the Knight Rider 2000, it was planned as a sequel to new series, so it was not created as a part of the first series. In fact, it is a TV-movie/film/video, but not series — where the rest of 'series'? We have the correct place for it here: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/10969

Yes, that's why I mentioned the Contribution Bible ... smiley_cat

I don't agree -> I think we have 2 different choices according to the Contribution Bible:

1.) If we consider this to be a pilot for a new series, it should be a new entry in the tv section -> according to this paragraph from the Contribution Bible:

"Pilots that were never picked up to series and were subsequently released to the general public should be added to the TV section with the TV Show Status set to "Pilot". This includes pilots that are leaked on the web, are released digitally, air on television in foreign countries and are released as a special feature on a DVD."

2.) If we consider this to be a sequel to the existing original series, it can stay in the Specials Season 0 of the existing series -> according to this paragraph from the Contribution Bible:

"The pilot episode of an existing series can be added to the special season if didn't aired on television as part of the original first season. This might be the case when there is, for example, a significant cast change and a new pilot is remade with the new cast. Unaired pilots are often released as bonus content on the series' DVDs. "

No. 1 would be my choice, I think no. 2 is a stretch of the rules. Anyhow, in both ways, the now existing movie entry should be deleted. From little that I know about this content, I think it's not appropriate to consider this to be a stand alone, regular (tv) movie. But that's just my interpretation of the rules, and we should wait how other moderators think about this. speaking_head

The main idea of mine here is to prevent duplication of one and the same information.
The 'PPS' above is resulted of general logic preventing the majority of possible misunderstandings in future.

But rules are rules. If we go specific to the TMDB rules, the No.2 describes another case at all — about unaired pilot, but we have non-existing (unaired) series and a pilot to them. So there is only one option remains — No.1 that may lead to misunderstanding, but is stated by rules. Not perfect rules is always much better than no rules.

Anyway, I'm not a mod here, so no advice, just a human point. And to delete the movie is better than to keep both: the movie and its remedies as pilot in specials.

PS again:
Back to the Beetleborgs, the 'Beetleborgs Metallix: The Movie' is big pilot to its second season named 'Beetleborgs Metallix', and is placed as separate movie here and on the IMDb. Think about it.

I’m with you on this janar. Though maybe add it as a movie, if it was released as a movie? I can look into the actual content maybe only Monday. Cause i am crazy busy coming days and weekend.

What do you think, Banana?

(Backstory; everything remotely related to a series is currently added as specials. Mostly because of tvdb I guess)

Yes, I think that's the basic question we should find an answer to.

If I find some time, I can look for infos on the weekend ... maybe ... joy_cat

I don't know anything about this content, but if this is indeed a pilot to a second season (it sounds more like a special, to be honest), it probably does not qualify as a separate movie and should be deleted. However, this needs to be researched properly by anyone before any decision is made, and I'm not sure when I find time for that research ... spy_tone1
