Discuss Cowboy Bebop

I started my trek into anime about 2004 and as with most people who discover a new interest, I watched as many as I could take in. I soon discovered that many anime follow the same format and after a couple of years, I had exhausted my zest for it. Mostly because the themes were almost always revisited and hardly anything original. I will always have much respect for the genre and will never talk ill of it although I haven't indulged in it in quite a few years now. Cowboy Bebop was one of the first animes I watched and I was totally blown away by it. I completely understood what I didn't before if all anime was as brilliant as this, then no wonder it has such a following in the States. However, I soon found out that it was one of a kind and would never find a match in its genius, although there are quite a few I did like a lot, Bebop was the only one I truly loved. I highly recommend it to anyone, not just anime fans and it will always hold a very special place in my heart.

You are not alone in considering it excellent. I gave it a shot and it left me a bit cold. I've stopped after 4 episodes. I like some Anime films but TV series dont grab me. My loss :(

I get it and I am sure you have heard this before but you really must get through more episodes to appreciate it. The full crew is not completely assembled until episode 9 I believe. The first few episodes are indeed the worst ones for a new comer. It's more like a mini series as it only consists of 27 episodes and a movie. It tells it's story and it moves on. It's not like your typical shonen anime that drags on forever.
