The episodes are listed in the order of their first TV broadcast.
You can use an episode group if you want them in another order.

I don't think this is quite valid, by this metric cowboy bebop has two seasons, season one being episodes 2,3,7-18 shown on TV Tokyo, with Season Two consisting of the remaining episodes shown on Wowow but season two has never been aired in "true" order. Additionally, I don't believe there is any way to define an episode group when using scrapers for kodi or plex.
from a maintenance standpoint, I think moving the TV Tokyo viewing order to an episode group and making the cannon grouping matching everyone elses makes the most sense and would resolve ongoing confusion.

As per our rules, the episodes should be listed in the current listed order. There are no alternatives. They can't be split in 2 seasons.
The episodes groups can be used without problem with Kodi : https://kodi.wiki/view/Naming_video_files/Episodes#Episode_Groups . For other scrapers, you will have to ask their support.
