While on a mission to rescue the Legion¹s benefactor, R.J. Brande, the heroes find themselves reminiscing about how the Legion was first created by Brande and its founding members: Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, and Saturn Girl.

The Legion's old nemesis Zyx comes to them from aid when the evil sorcerer Mordru takes over his homeworld of Zarok.
