Let me start off by stating I have nothing against Jennette McCurdy. In a lot of ways Sam Puckett is a good person. She appears to have a soft spot for Cat. However I do find that a few of the running gags that were continued from iCarly do get a little tiresome. For example the pound of butter in a sock joke. Although it is very effective. Especially in the toddler climbing episode of S & C. Now on to Cat. She's adorable, lovable, and very ditzy. Despite that she is intelligent, clever, and emphatic. On the pilot episode of Victorious she was more eccentric than dumb. I digress and like Cat I have a short attention span. (I'm also bipolar for what that is worth). I feel she has matured a little but still retains her sweet bubbly ditzy personality. On a side note the episodes that feature Goomer make me laugh. The episode where the girls 'babysit' Goomer made me laugh until my side hurt and we can all use a dose of silly humor. I'd like to conclude by saying that while I prefer Cat, as she is my favorite, having Sam as a 'friend' couldn't hurt.

I like the'bad' girl, who's really good. In "iCarly (2007-2012)" you get to know Sam and how she came to be 'bad' to survive.
Carly's friendship made a big difference. In "iChristmas (S2E09, 2008)" Carly wishes that Spencer was 'normal', and that changed everything. Sam never becomes friends with Carly, and she ended up in the Juvenile Detention Cente.
Sam may act and talk tough and pull pranks, but she's the best friend you can have, she's real and there when you need her.
Cat is silly sweet; she never seems to grow up. She talks a lot and does strange things.
Still, sometimes you just want to give her a big hug, but if you try, she'll just wander away, and no one, even she, knows where she's going or what's really going on in her head.

Cat is ditzy but she is actually smart when she has to be. Sam is just mean and lazy. Granted she does do the right thing in the end. Except for when Cat got arrested for trying to prove Jet was wearing a wig and Sam left her in Jail in Pheonix.
