Discuss Kolchak: The Night Stalker

Here they are, in alphabetical order:

Let's set the deadline for Friday, so Friday evening I announce the official results. But if everyone agrees and have already voted, we can do that earlier.

Choose 5 in order of preference. Make an effort to find 5 you like, please. Michael Levenson had suggested not allowing vote changes, but I think then everyone would want to vote last and cast the decisive vote, so I think voters should be allowed to change their votes if they don't like who's winning. Sometimes our rejection of a show is stronger than the love for another one.

Make your votes in blue color and write nothing else in blue, so I can differentiate the votes from all the random chatter that comes with them. This is how I make blue: [span style="color:blue"]some blue text[/span], except with "< >" instead of "[ ]". Well, I guess that's it... Good luck. May the least boring win.

  1. Dead Like Me Because I do so look forward to eventually discussing that show with this group some time.
  2. Alien Nation Because I remember enjoying the show when it aired on TV.
  3. Camelot Because I enjoy Michael Hirst's current series Vikings and would like to see more of his way with bloody medieval action drama.
  4. Welcome to Paradox Sounds interesting.
  5. Defying Gravity Just because.

Oh, Bob, I just realized you're the only one who didn't give Twin Peaks a single vote. I hope that doesn't put you off if Twin Peaks wins. Anyway, you can still adapt your votes and bump up Alien Nation or Welcome to Paradox and give either of these shows a better chance in case Twin Peaks is really out of your plans. And good luck!

I may live to regret voting for Twin Peaks. I've watched the new episodes on SHOWTIME and they move at a snail's pace and some of it is just insane. I could easily change my vote and try to sandbag it, but

  • a.) I've never seen most of the episodes, so it will be something new to me
  • b.) it might help clarify some of these new episodes,
  • c.) to this day, lots of people reference the show as being something unique and outstanding.

So I'm looking forward to see what the fuss is all about.

Well, that's a bold attitude on your part since, in the new series, they might inadvertently reveal the name of the murderer. Yes, many people say wonderful things about this show, and in the 1980s I used to watch many David Lynch movies and, at that time, I liked his style. I'd like to watch the new series, but only after having watched the old one.

Speaking of which... It seems the Twin Peaks board is quite active, and that's a plus. We're likely to gather more followers. But at the same time we won't "own" the board as we did with Kolchak's.

Anyway, there's an entry named "Why isn't there a Twin Peaks 2017 forum?" and while one poster says "There's a season 3 in Twin Peaks, so that's where the discussions are :) It's not a stand-alone/new show, from the information we have gathered so far," another one retorts, "Don’t call it Season 3, by the way. The creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, conceived it as a single 18-hour work, and the first two “parts,” as Showtime calls them, don’t feel particularly episodic.)" as the new series is described as a "Limited Event Series". So, I guess we can do this one without fear.

Congrats on the "unordered list" accomplishment! 🙌🎒

So are we headed to Twin Peaks? I'm hungry for some pie and coffee grinning
