Yes. But it needs to accept the fact that it is now a completely different show. The entire concept of Season 1 was the big reveal that they were so far in the future. Now that the cat is out of the bag, they need to make it something more compelling. Season 2 fell flat and seemed like it was rushed. Still, even that had potential. The bad thing here is that FOX needs to SH^T or get off the pot. If they renew it now, it's really going to be a rushed project, and I don't see that working out well.

Definitely not worth another try unless it's renewed for a 3rd season. In which case we might need the background from S2 in order to fully appreciate what happens in S3.

One of the main issues with Season 2 is that it was NEVER intended to be made. WAYWARD PINES was a 10 episode mini-series with a specific end. FOX sat on their ass and waited until freakin' December to renew the thing for a 2nd Season. By that time, most of the actors had moved on to other projects. And ones that hadn't had been killed off in the original ending.

That's the problem with AMERICAN TV. Unlike some other countries where they are perfectly happy with a 10 episode arc story, and let it end, here in America if it's successful, you can damn well bet they will bring it back over and over again. Take HOMELAND. That's based off an Israeli series. It was never meant to be some 5-7 year show. So after a while it starts feeling forced.

But when you base it off a Stephen King novel, they should just go in knowing that when the story is told and finished - that's that. They made UNDER THE DOME unwatchable, and came close to doing the same with WAYWARD PINES. At this point, they should probably just let it RIP.

I think Fox's other problem is that they don't properly advertise. I never knew there was a first season until after the second season ended. I saw adverts for the second season on other channels. It looked interesting. I tuned in and I was hooked. Then I found out after the season ended that there was a first season. I would love to see it but unless Fox re-airs it, that's not going to happen. Further, I am still hoping they bring it back for a third season. So many things were left unanswered. I'd like to see where the mutants go. Meaning, I don't think they're as stupid/animalistic as the people in the town want to believe and I really want to see the show focus more on them. And please don't spoil anything for me by telling me about the book as I only now know it was based off a book because of your final paragraph.

Too many things go unexplained. For example in a city of 1700 inhabitants, where did they find the technology, clothes, weapons, cars, fuel etc?? I've seen all 20 episodes but it seems like a too stretched story .... there was a 90 minute film and that's it ..
