Discuss Fear the Walking Dead

They go and kill my favourite character and one of the best actors in all of The Walking Dead πŸ‘ΏπŸ‘ΏπŸ‘Ώ Greaaaaaat, just great!!! The whole way through I was thinking awesome! Morgan's character is not annoying now, whoo. I was thinking this'll be a good alternative to TWD since it completely sucks now but Nooooo you go ahead and kill one of the most interesting characters and my favourite in Fear. Thanks a bunch Fear πŸ™„ thanks a whole fucking bunch.

That was definitely a shocker! He was one of my favorites too. Although, I'm still hopeful for the season. I do really like the new additions to the cast. I'm also digging the duel timelines, and I think it's interesting the way they're filmed. Usually the flashbacks are in black and white or just have that dull look, but they're doing the reverse here and I think it's a really cool touch. The flashbacks are bright and colorful, I think representative of a more positive time for the group. The current timeline has the dull gritty look, which seems to represent the loss and desperation the group has endured/is enduring.

Nah, I don't like the dual timelines. I am angry as hell that he is gone. Probably the Gimple effect. I don't care about the new girl and guy. They make me barf. Morgan is good, but can't carry the entire show. Is Madison dead? We'll see.

Yeah, I started to wonder if Nick killed Ennis (sp?) because Ennis had something to do with getting rid of Maddy. We haven't seen her in 3 episodes....

I'm thinking the same thing. We've only seen her in the flashback timeline. Plus, seeing the flowers really seemed to affect Nick. I initially thought the crossover was going to be a way to eventually combine the two shows. Now I'm wondering if it's just going to all be Morgan's journey, and how he ends up back with Rick and co. Maybe none of the Fear cast is going to make it back with him.

First Troy now Nick if Madison is gone so am I... Nick death is almost as bad as Carl's the series started with him and for the most part revolved around him and Madison now they bring in Morgan tossing in character I don't care for and completely trash the character we have followed for seasons.

He isnt dead dead, is is still alive in the other timeline, so i am sure you will see a lot more of the character. This is my favorite season since the show began

"They" didn't want to kill him off, it was the actors decision.

New showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg told The Hollywood Reporter about the decision to kill off Nick, revealing it wasn't their decision to write the character out. The choice was actually Frank Dillane's, as the actor had asked to leave the show to pursue other opportunities in Season 3, before they had even joined the show.

"One of the first things we were tasked with when we came on to run Season 4 was to really find a story that would give Nick a fitting sendoff," Chambliss said. "He's been with the show from day one, so it was very important to us and to Frank to find a death for him that was emotional and one that would ripple forward throughout the storytelling."

Dillane himself told Entertainment Weekly that he just wanted to move on. "I had been doing it for three or four years, the show has undergone many changes in terms of different people in charge, all of this stuff, and I just felt like the beginning of this season kind of felt like the end of an era with this show," Dillane said. "And television is hard work, and you have to shoot a lot. I also missed Europe very much. I'm not American, so after a while I get quite homesick and all of those things. I also felt like we had achieved what needed to be achieved in the first few seasons, so I thought it was time to keep moving."

I know about it now too so I guess I can't blame the actor for wanting to leave but selfishly I want the character to still be on the show.

Yea but it's bittersweet now. Everything he does is meaningless because we know he ends up dying. Imagine if they pulled a Glenn under the dumpster on us though, that would be so much worse.

That would be worse (but the character was in the last episode so i assume he is going to be a constanrt fixture for the rest of the season (maybe till the last few episodes)
