Discuss Glitch

Season 2 ended with Phil shot and on his way to Noregard, Sarah shot dead, and a science experiment in the cemetery, which failed to resurrect Elishia, but which did apparently push the boundary line back out. And there were some interesting minor cliffhangers as well.

Kate finally told Owen everything (after the cemetery science and death scene). He said he had to go get some air, stepped outside and we see him on the phone saying "hey mate it's Owen. Yeah yeah, I gotta talk to you". So who did he call? What was he going to tell him? Owen seems to be secretly spilling the beans on Kate, which cannot be good for her. Will this ruin their relationship? If so, will she hook up with her husband James again and take care of Sarah's baby?

Kirstie has a secret. Kirstie and Charlie went to the Royal. Kirstie got sick and vomited in the toilet, then put her hand to her tummy and said "oh fuck". So she is pregnant. But who is the father? Is it her boyfriend Kevin Brunner? Or is it the rapist Pete Rennix? As far as we know, she has not hooked up with anyone since she came back, so it would have to be one of those two guys.

The last scene shows William back at the cemetery blowing on that resurrection whistle thing, and the ground then showed that same pattern which was produced by the sound part of the experiment. Does that mean more people are going to arise in season 3?

Glitch has already checked the gay guy box with Charlie remembering his secret boyfriend from the war, and getting hit on by the aging gay bartender at the Royal. So we should expect season 3 will show Charlie with a love interest at some point.

Also, Phil is not dead, as everyone thought when Sarah shot him at the cemetery. Dr. Heysen took his body "for study", and James allowed it since reporting the death of Phil 2.0 and Sarah 2.0 might have led to interesing autopsy findings and questions nobody wanted to answer. Will Phil submit to testing at Norgard? Or will he escape and continue his campaign of killing the resurrected?

Also, why exactly did Phil, Vic, and Sarah immediately return to life, with memories intact, and a mission to kill all those who came back to life? They mentioned that there are rules, you're born, you live, and you die, in that order, and that breaking those rules upsets the natural order in some way. Will the writers elaborate on these issues or will they leave them shrouded in mystery?

I see there are only 6 episodes, so whatever they intend to show us, it won't take them long to do it.

That is intriguing - what could Umut know unless he has overheard something (why not - that is the way everybody gets their information in Turkish series) that Erhan said on one of his visitations. How can Ertan be worse than we thought!! I think the way they are portraying his personality is that he has been subjugated for so long by his father and by the Don that he is now drunk with power and capable of anything. I can't see him subjugating himself to the Russians either - he is so arrogant he will think he can take them on and win. This new chap Fetih? the gang chief who stayed with the Don - he is young enough and good looking enough to prove a temptation for Merve perhaps - they have already had a fractious introduction - and you know the way it goes - start off with hostility end up with falling in love. That could bring the possibility of Serhat and Nurgul reuniting. If you have the same episode previews as I do they are completely wrong!! Most of the time they don't refer to the episode they are describing so I don't bother reading them now. It amuses me how the three of them (Serhat et al) are filmed walking in slow motion in the middle of the road a gun in each hand blazing with seemingly endless bullets and they hardly ever get a scratch - Nasmi in particular is as much use as a chocolate teapot in a gunfight - and Dardayli is more likely to shoot off his mouth than a gun. The conversations he initiates are totally senseless and he always says "Oh - I'm crazy" at the end of them and the other two laugh ruefully - yeah - really funny in a life and death situation with him. Oh - something occurred to me that you might know - we see so often a guy being given a gun and when attempting to fire it - it proves to be empty of bullets - my question - would it be possible to tell by the weight of the gun whether it was empty or not? Another thing has now come to mind - when the Russian kidnapped Gomma and chained him to the bed - they gave him a gun and threw a bullet on the bed whilst they made their escape - Gomma put the bullet in the gun and shot himself in the head - couldn't he have shot through the chain instead? And anyway - why would he choose to die rather than go to jail - his lawyers would probably have got him a light sentence spent eating meatballs and pasta and living it up in a luxury cell - I couldn't see him killing himself - it didn't fly for me.

Perhaps some can tell from the weight of the gun if the pistol were very lightweight unloaded. It would still only change the weight a few ounces in most cases. Until recently most Turkish pistols were still all steel construction. Now they are making some with polymer frames which have become more popular over the years. I can sort of tell between an empty gun and one which is fully loaded, so I guess it's possible to know it's not a fully loaded gun. As far as shooting a chain, I doubt it would work on a heavy chain. It would bounce off of a heavy chain. And what if he were bound in more than one place? They way I recall that scene they implied that his crimes were of such a nature that he would have been disgraced both in public and in the criminal world. That is one of those points that we have to assume is true because we don't really have the facts to check it with. We know he murdered maids after he had his way with them. In some crime cultures that would not raise an eyebrow, but in that one it was apparently breaking one of those old codes that Ismail and his generation venerated so well. And maybe that would have spelled trouble for him in prison. And the Russian implied there were other things.

I went back to binge-ing the episodes. I agree; those summaries are all screwed up. I saw one which fit the episode before, and most of these later descriptions don't make sense to me when I read them. I can't find the names of the characters they refer to in the dialogue either.

As Ertan teams up with the Russian to deal drugs in Turkey, the Don and his team are dead set on stopping them. This places makes their interests line up with Serhat's interests, and the two teams wind up on the same side of some shootouts. They wind up with a tentative working relationship, which suits the Don alright, though Serhat lets him know their alliance is temporary. They come in peril of death a few times, various ones of them, but you know they will make it since there are more episodes to come. Burkat has not changed, still a screw-up, and still blames the trouble he causes on others, though at times he shows compassion toward Merve. Merve is now free to love and pine for Serhat, who saves her life twice. I don't think he knows Umut is his son.

I am close to finishing. I didn't sleep well last night, though I kept falling asleep and having to go back to see what I missed. But after I wake up fully today I will finish the series I think.

Whoa !! I am only on ep 38. Erhan turns up at the Don's house to get Umut - guns blazing as usual - what judge in their right mind would award him custody. The three stooges have gone off on another mission of mercy saving an abused ex-wife. They take the villain to one of the houses he is a realtor of and beat the living daylights out of him - he deserved it sure - but it's a bit hypocritical of them to call him a coward when they are three against one. Ertan is having a jolly time being a waiter in Nurgul's café whilst her auntie who has morphed into St Theresa works and cooks happily behind the counter. One wonders why Nurgul is a waitress - isn't she a chef? The Don - in response to Ertans attempt to take over the bank by kidnapping the female manager - has threatened to kill Erol - Ertan's father - I thought that was stupid - given the way he is portrayed Erhan would have told them to go ahead and kill him. The Don has now forbidden Merve to leave the house and she has just snuck out in the middle of the night with Umut - the guards see him in the back but she tells him that the Don knows that Umut has a fever and she is taking him to hospital. Being really intelligent guards it doesn't occur to them that the Don would have told them that - it also doesn't occur to them to check with the Don. By the way what happened to the flyer campaign and the million lira reward - that was just quietly dropped it seems. I am sick and tired of all these separate campaigns by the three stooges - I just ff through them because they have nothing to do with the major plot - it is just filling in time. I don't think that Turkey is doing their culture many favours in the eyes of the world where they show women being beaten on a regular basis and vigilante justice hardly ever attracting the notice of the police. The sayings are getting sillier "Every coyote has it's own wolf" or vice versa - Turks seem to have a LOT of proverbs. I am struggling on with it - it's not in my nature to leave a series unfinished - but it is a struggle now.

I didn't mind the proverbs in Ezel. Even though they didn't make sense to me, the old man saying them sounded sort of wise, and so it made them sound esoteric. But when these guys say some proverb,it sounds a bit stupid, especially when Dadayli is the one talking. The bit I am most tired of and usually ff through are the frequent exchanges between the Doc and Dadayli. Guys who beat women are viewed as cowards, generally speaking. But in Muslim cultures the husband is allowed to beat his wife "if he has good reason". So I guess the show is trying to be progressive on the issue of not beating women. I liked the scene of the guy in a body cast with a sign saying "I beat a woman. Don't do it" or something like that.

Now I think they may be building toward a finish where Serhat saves Nurgul from Ertan at the end. She still things he is a good guy, and he is only a psychopath who thinks everyone should serve him. He doesn't really care about Nurgul or anyone else.

Ertan suspects there is a mole in his group and if he cannot be sure he has killed the mole, he is planning to kill all his distributors and get a new group of them. Serhat and his crew are still working to shut down the drug trade Ertan and the Russian are running.

I am on Ep 42 - Merve runs away with Umut to a hotel - she is quickly found by Erhan who takes off his belt and beats her - again - more violence towards women. Serhat turns up - Erhan - after all that says - oh I just want to see Umut once a week - go back home. What an anti-climax. After endless scenes of being captured by miscellaneous faction - beaten - and let go - the three stooges are now on the trail of "Everlasting Love" the mouth spray drug warehouse. Merve is back at home - she has told Serhat she still loves him (cue tender love scenes of the past) but he tells her he still loves his wife. Sob. Erhan is having crazy bug eyed talks to himself in which he says his plan is working - Nurgul is falling in love with him and when she does he will tell Serhat - and that will be his perfect revenge. He says he always had a suspicion about Merv and Serhats relationship - but it doesn't seem to occur to him that Umut might not be his child. I am still waiting for that revelation because I can't see it making a difference now to Serhat's love for Nurgul. My forecast scenario is that Merve will be killed and she will tell Serhat to look after his son - and he and Nurgul will get back together with a replacement child.

That was the revelation about Ertan I was talking about; he has been stringing Nurgul along so he can drive Serhat crazy, and he doesn't care about breaking Nurgul's heart. I think your scenario sounds about right. They have shown Nurgul as a very good person all this time, and from time to time shown she still loves Serhat. There will be some climactic part of an episode where Nurgul finds out the truth about Ertan being a mobster, and somehow that he killed Omer. Serhat will finally get his revenge on Ertan while saving Nurgul's life, finally bringing them back together. I think your idea about Umut is probably right also. I think Ertan may kill the Topcouglu family, except Umut, and Serhat will kill Ertan. Somehow the Russian will get taken care of. Then it's back to the tea shop, but this time goofy and Doc will move there as well. Maybe.

Another stupid scene: the trio is checking the perimeter of one of the crime boss's house, Bici, as they are parked about 50 feet down the road from the gate, where they and their vehicle are in plain view of the front gate and the guards stationed there. Then they are surprised when one of the guards looks down out the front gate and sees them and then a bunch of guards with semi auto rifles come running out shooting at the trio, armed only with pistols. It is much, much easier to shoot accurately with a rifle than with a pistol, but none of the guards can hit them. Our three heroes however kill all the guards as they run around firing their pistols.

Fathi likes Merve, but his feelings are unrequited. Burkat just happened to be lurking behind the curtains at the door and overheard the conversation, which went: Fathi: I like you. Merve: I feel the same as I did ten years ago, so there is no chance. Fathi: OK. Merve: I have to go now. Burkat grabs Fathi as he walks inside and threatens him "How could you look at my sister that way? Wait til I tell my father". Fathi: "There is nothing going on. It was just a childish thing. I won't pursue it." Burkat: "You better not, or I'll tell daddy."

I don't get it. What could be more innocent than saying I like you to a girl to check how she feels? Weird culture. But maybe it is a class thing. We're the Mafia family, and you're just the second in command of our Mafia army. You can't mix with us socially.

Burkat disobeyed his father again and sent help to someone Ismet had turned down. Bici threatened this guy and Ismet said he could not help, that Bici was backed by Ertan and the Russians and they wouldn't listen to him. Burkat stopped him outside and told him "I will convince my father. We will protect you. Then he called Bici and threatened him and he sent men to protect that man. So now Bici is planning to go after Ismat Ali. I am betting this is the end of the Don, and he is done in by another of his screw up sons.

There are 10 minutes to go in the last episode and nothing has been resolved. It's just another episode. Ertan told his father he is going to marry Nurgul and send photos to Serhat to give him a heart attack. Serhat still doesn't know they are together, and Nurgul still doesn't know Ertan is Mafia or that he killed her son. Serhat and gang are planning to help someone who pays protection money to Bici. Now Ertan has proposed to Nurgul. Nurgul says it's so sudden and she isn't ready. She needs to think about it but promises to answer soon. TWO minutes left in episode 50.

IMDB shows 52 episodes but Netflix only shows 50. It really sucks if they didn't buy the final two episodes. I can't believe this. How can they put this show on without the final two episodes?? It's like I wasted my time.

The show ends with Nurgul's aunt urging her to accept the marriage proposal and then walking away. That's it. Finito.

This just SUCKS.

I have just finished it and all I can say is that I am disgusted with Netflix for leaving a series like this. The only redeeming feature in my view is that I skipped through half of it. Maybe in future it would be sensible not to trust Netflix and check on the number of episodes in any given series. Any ideas on what to watch next?

Netflix should pay us for watching all that without the ending. I went to the online form for requesting shows and asked for Kacak the final two episodes. Maybe someone will see that and fix it.

No I don't have any likely candidates yet.

I watched Gracepoint. It only has one season. It was the same as Broadchurch right up to the last, and then it was a little different. The guy didn't actually kill the kid, but he took the blame for it. His son followed him out there and when the kid ran to the cliff and the man ran after him. Then his son ran out and picked up an oar that was lying there and started swinging it at his dad saying stay away from my friend. His son accidentally smacked the kid in the head with the oar. Then the father told him to go home and say nothing about it, that it was all his fault, and he would handle it. A very different ending to it.

So we can both look around for shows and one of us will find something soon.

What about "Gonul" it has 38 episodes.

Looks interesting. Let's give it a try

OK - shall we start a new thread as well - this one is getting a bit cumbersome !!

OK, I started a discussion under this show, which you won't find since it has a slightly different name and Turkish letters not found on our keyboards. Hatirla Gönül Here is a link
