A fave cartoon back in the day

This was a favourite childhood cartoon of mine, that I enjoyed watching episodes of whenever I knew they'd be on. I remember it as being interesting, imaginative, and filled with adventure.

There have been rumors of a live action version for years, but it never seems to make it into production. I heard Zac Efron was attached for a while but now he is (and has always been) too old for the title character. That may be the problem: finding a talented pre-teen or early teen. I would like to see it. Race Bannon is also a tough cast, but wouldn't Jason Statham be awesome. I have always thought of Lee Pace for Dr. Quest and Lucy Liu for Jade. Bandit would have to be CGI.
