I have just watched this film again and I am surprised that it hasn't attracted any discussion. The acting is good - apart from a little Michael Madsen from John Pullman - and the ending is a surprise that is not telegraphed like so many of these type of films. I just wish for a return to the old code of crime doesn't pay - because it can become somewhat irritating to see crime treated as a "cool" thing to do.

I agree, I'm not a fan of endings where the bad guys get away with it.
Having said, it did hold my attention. I have to disagree with you on the ending though, could see it a mile off. They became very suspicious from when Pullman said to Ormond (who I have to admit was still looking fiiiine in this!) about not getting too close to the little girl go.

I agree you could see from the moment the little girl saw their hands touch that something was amiss - but it didn't telegraph what it was - you could assume that they were lovers without being killers until he said don't get too close to the little girl - you knew then.

Yeah, I dunno, something seemed off with them from the start so once I had the idea it could be them, the pieces started to fall into place.
I thought Bill Pullman did a great job because I can't recall him ever playing such a character before. You're right though, there was a bit of Michael Madsen to it lol.
