Discuss Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist

I thought this was a pretty good film, giving one version of Father Merrin's background both in Africa and Holland. It was actually closer to the 1974 film, for reasons that I won't go into due to spoilers.

This and the other prequel are where Merrin meets Pazuzu.

Strong performances, a good script and an interesting locale make this (and the other prequel) very good films and well-worth watching.

And even though I give the other prequel slightly higher marks, I really enjoyed both of them.

I know I'm 4 years late responding (better late then never..lol), but rewatched all 5 Exorcist films over the course of a week...I gave Renny Harlin's version a half a star more due to pure popcorn entertainment value, but THIS version (Paul Schader's version) is overall the better character builder. Maybe if the studio worked with Schrader and added a few more horror elements..maybe make the climax a bit grander, this COULD'VE been the best Exorcist sequel....maybe.

Is this - the sequel wherein the dead, tacked down butterflies start moving their wings, and it's supposed to be scary? Ha ha, miss. Ugh.

Nah, thats Renny Harlin's "popcorn" version, Exorcist: The Beginning

Actually, it's a prequel', as sequels come afterwards. This film takes place 25 years prior to the events in Georgetown.
