Über Kurzer Prozess - Righteous Kill diskutieren

Tell me if there are others, but I think this is the third collaboration between De Niro and Pacino. The Godfather, Heat, and Righteous Kill. Those are the only ones that come to mind presently.

They make a good acting team. Both of them are very good actors and they play their parts to perfection again in this movie. I imagine that Carla Gugino, Donnie Wahlberg, and John Leguizamo must have been thrilled to get to work with these famous veteran actors.

The first time I saw this movie I did not see the surprise twist coming before it was revealed, so they pulled it off well I thought.

Of course now there's The Irishman.

In all honesty, I wasnt expecting your positive post - I found this to be the complete opposite of what you said! The acting, particularly, De Niro's, was awful. The storyline was so predictable, including the twist, and certain scenes were just laughable (50 cent being shot in the chest yet go head first through a window, for example).

I had heard this was bad but never thought it would be that bad. Also I read that the budget was $60mil, which is insane. I can only imagine most of it went on De Niro and Pacino's salary. I wasn't a fan of Heat but I could acknowledge the style to it and how Mann can shoot a film; Righteous Kill was just all round terrible.

Well, I'm not a great critic I guess. Sometimes I am in a mood and just like what I watch. Other times I am very critical of things. Gun scenes for example, where actors don't understand how guns actually work and it comes through. Or the common trope of a cop entering a room, pistol in ourstretched arm, doesn't clear the room properly, so the guy behind the door is able to grasp the gun and they fight over it, stuff like that makes me nuts.

For some reason I liked this movie. I know that de Niro seemed a bit stiff as he tried to play the bulky Irishman. I overlooked it. I don't personally like de Niro, but appreciate his acting in some movies. Perhaps I was predisposed to like it and wasn't objective enough.

I'm surprised the 50 cent scene I previously mentioned didn't bother you then, as the way his "shot" body flew through the window was something out of a comedy like Naked Gun.

It's OK, I get it - liking a film is subjective. But for me personally I just couldn't get past how much of a B-movie it looked from the start.

I watched this with an open mind knowing it had been bashed by everyone (well, everyone except yourself!). I guess I wanted to see for myself if it was as bad as everyone said.
