Discuss It's a Wonderful Life

Around this time, I like to watch Holiday Inn, While You Were Sleeping, and Groundhog Day. Also an obscure Aussie film called Miracle Down Under.

Never cared for White Christmas, which I feel is a poor film.

I love the original but I also love the remake. Have you seen it?

Yes, it's alright.

Just watched two Christmas movies starring Dean Cain: "The Case for Christmas (2011)" and "Defending Santa (2013)".

'Defending Santa' had THE WORST Santa I have ever seen in a movie, even Billy Bob Thorton's Santa was better!

I have been watching tons of Christmas movies on some of the streaming channels. They are mostly Hallmark & Lifetime movies, there are a couple of good ones but most are just bad. I have a bunch of Christmas DVDs but haven't watched any of them ( don't know why). I also have a bunch saved in my Hulu queue but haven't watched any of them either.

You're right, most of them are 'bad', but I just love to watch all these movies during these holidays. The decorations are so beautiful.

Would you happen to know the name of the one wherein the little kid gets his tongue stuck to the frozen pole out in the cold?

That's A Christmas Story (1983). I forgot all about it!

Thanks, gen.

Sorry I'm late to this! Nice to see some of these threads being active again. I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas, and I wish everyone a happy New Year!

I did my annual rewatch of It's a Wonderful Life, and also finally saw Miracle on 34th Street! So glad I finally broke down after avoiding it for years. What a nice little movie! Edmund Gwenn's performance is so sweet and charming, just perfect.

I also did a video of 10 mini reviews on various classic Christmas movies for my YouTube channel, Old Hat Cinema. For your entertainment, here is the link.

You are a woman? I have always thought you were a man.

You should also watch the 1994 version of Miracle.

Yes indeed, I'm a woman. Still a teen too actually, but in the latter part of those years. Thanks for checking it out! And thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to look at the rother version of Miracle.
