Discuss Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion

Im serious this is really the best anime film that ever existed in the history of anime, only the most patrician taste film buffs can understand it's Genius. Congratulations Anno-san you fucking hack, you actually did it, now where is that 4th rebuild movie?

I don't know; I only watched maybe a couple TV episodes of these. But wasn't it the running joke at the time that any Evangelion sequel is a cash-in?

The original show is a lot better than the rebuilds, so if you watched the original show and enjoyed, you will not enjoy the rebuilds which are more of a remake of the original series, although there is a theory that it is a sequel, not a remake. I call it a remake though, we will have to find out in the 4th movie

Evangelion watch guide

  1. First start with the original Neon Genesis Evangelion Series
  2. skip Death and Rebirth because it is pretty much a recap of the original series, and has the first 30 mins of the next movie at the end
  3. Watch End of Evangelion (Movie)
  4. Finally watch the 3 rebuild movies
  5. 4th movie is supposed to come out most likely later this year, or possibly next year

I watched the original series and recently watched (like the past week) the 3 new movies but i actually liked them. Yes they are different, more focused in the action and leaving out much of the characters problems and past drama (some are even changed drastically).

I believe this was because the author motivation in these movies is not the same as in the original tv-series which were a lot more sad and depressive. Anyway, im willing to see how the 4th movie will end (since i end up intrigued and confused after the 3rd part did not make any effort in explaining many of the events)

End of Evangelion is the best there is along with the tv show
