Can’t believe no one has commented on this awesome B movie. Larry Cohen just wrote some of the best characters and dialog. The budgetary restrictions on all things visual just makes it more awesome. He is a great pairing with the great Michael Moriarty. Like in Q the Winged Serpent a leading character who s actually not a good guy. A complex human with a lot of faults but can still do the right thing when it counts. And the amazing Colonel Spears played perfectly by Paul Sorvino. An amazing satire of a right wing militia paranoiac.

The militia running from just landed planes to some taxi cabs...

Taxi Driver “What is this, World War 3!?” Spears, very sternly “Just get us to 4th and Main right away and no more of your Liberal remarks!”

And many more Gold nuggets... The scene on the plane where he talks about having never been liked is just hilarious.
