I didn't expect anyone to remember the phrase - it's from a Juke Box Jury show - a pop show where (I think) three members of the public had to grade the latest pop releases. (This was a British show) One female judge would mostly say "Oill give it foive" in her Birmingham accent. What she was saying was that in her opinion it wasn't terrible but it wasn't much good either !! My sentiments exactly.
Thanks for your response.
Just -but I am getting so tired of "strong female leads" and oh so obvious and predictable endings.
Don't you think it's time you should be more tired of "only male leads with supporting female characters in arbitrary frames " ? :)
I do like this movie , which does have it's flaws but does capture few of really amazing concepts. Evolution as culmination of experimentation, curiosity and are rules just perceived reality . At least that's where I was going. Which part was obvious in ending for you though? I really enjoyed could've done without all that expository scenes at end though.
I think that casting should be equal - no one gender being portrayed as superior to another. All I seem to see recently is females showing how superior they are and males being portrayed as somewhat stupid. You can't buck a trend by reversing the roles - that merely continues the inequality.

Ah ok. I thought you meant 5 as in max number of stars allowed here on tmdb.org :) I personally gave the movie 1.5 tmdb stars.

It's similar to how people react to "Black lives matter" with "All lives matter". You know , it's time equality should be so ingrained you stop trying to spot.
