Hi, since we want to keep it at no more than 3 genres, which one should we remove with your proposal? Also, at a quick glance the current setup looks to be the most common on other movie websites.
I wonder why so many sites leave out the action part then. Anyhow, let's wait for another moderator to weigh in. Since I haven't actually seen the movie (yet) I have no strong personal opinion about it.
Well, I remember it as an action hero in a mostly slow-paced film with barely has any "action" (maybe two or three scenes?). So it depends on our definition of the action genre.
Two or three are less for you? It's enough to make it qualify for the genre. Pace doesn't define an action film, action does. See, the director already agrees it's action. I don't care about your personal definition. Either list the important genre or none. It's an action thriller, whether you agree or not.
And if you think your rules/definitions are above other facts/definitions, then be happy with your platform and enjoy it alone. No need of tricking viewers into working hard on maintaining it.

It seems you want to decide this based on your own opinion (and a few stray opinions).

This seems a bit over-dramatic. No one is tricking you into contributing.

That sounds like a typical thriller. I'm staying with the current genres until I have watched the movie myself, or until another moderator comes up with a strong argument for this genre to be included. Closing topic for now.
Should have understood it. It was all a trick to get this closed. So many sources and not one convinces you. Fine. It's very easy to force your opinions and put the blame on someone else. You did that easily. The very fact that you called authentic sources as "stray" shows how you just wanted to get this closed. That's why you waited for Banana to show up and decline. Just one statement and it's closed. Today I realized this database does not run on rules, it's run on opinions of moderators. Good. It was all my fault of raising an issue here, only to find my arguments and research work labelled as "stray". Very good language used by you. I know you're gonna do nothing. Then do nothing. Read this message and close this topic.
So if I provide you with 25 sources claiming you are wrong you are still going to have the same opinion, based on your reasoning (since your opinion is worth more than experienced TMDb moderators). Oh well, I guess you had your mind made up from the start... I even asked why all the major sites didn't have this as Action and you said: "It's nothing new for the "sites" to do that. They tend to ignore action". So you basically said every site out there is wrong and you are right. I should have known you were going to ignore the majority of data out there in favor of your own opinion.
(Note: I will still revisit this topic eventually as per my previous response.)

The film's an action-thriller. There's crime too. I think drama could be taken out since it's present in any action-crime-thriller film.

It's nothing new for the "sites" to do that. They tend to ignore action while it's majorly an action thriller. You can check here:

Okay, I have found director's statement regarding the genre:
“It’s a suspense thriller, an action film, and a character study” meaning we should list action, drama and thriller.

I'd still like to wait for another opinion before making the change, but you have provided many good new perspectives here. Thanks.
