The only one that was supposed to be released last year that I wanted to see (in the theater) was No Time To Die. But the way things are going I'll probably be dead before it's released? I generally do not see most films in a theater (for many reasons I won't bore you with) except films like the one mentioned. I think they should be seen on the big screen first.

Yes, I do hope cinema survives all this. It'd be cool if they started making drive-in theatres. But also home screens are getting bigger and bigger so people may feel less need to go to the cinema before long.

I am old enough to have experienced the drive-in, it was a 'rite of passage' in my teenage years. We still have two in my general area (although I haven't been to one in years).

I have updated my list in the OP. As always, I still have plenty to see but I’m reasonably happy with my list as of now.

Aah, I noticed you added Waves. I must commend you on a most excellent decision.

It would be so cool to go to a drive in. I envy you there. But I think bringing something like that back would be a cool, retro way to revitalise cinema and give it a way to compete with the current popularity of tv.

Such a powerful film, superbly shot and acted. That one moment mid-film when everything shifts hit me like a cannonball.

I believe that the main reason most drive-ins went bust was because the amount of land needed & the owners of said land could make A LOT of money if they sold it to the greedy developers who could build crappy buildings by the hundreds.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. I thought the shooting style seemed to be influenced by Terrence Malick. (Spoiler warning) That mid point was such a gut punch. I was expecting him to commit suicide from all the stress but that was totally a different direction and kind of reminds you that people who do that are not all 1 dimensional monsters. There are circumstances and he was humanized. You have a lot of mixed feelings about it and I think that's the point.

Yeah, I can see that making sense. All those cars have gotta take up a lot of space. That's the old captialism doing what it likes to do.
