Directors cut.....movie's long anyway. adding 30 more minutes doesn't hurt....plus I like that they show why the soldiers abandoned the fort and also why no one knows that Dunbar was out there all alone because of the crazy major committing suicide

Director' Cut. I had a weird fascination with this movie when it first came out on VHS. I'd watch it til the tape wore out, and the story always felt a little incomplete which is an odd thing to say given the length of the theatrical cut as it was. When a Director's Cut was released, I watched it, and it felt a little more fleshed out with the added scenes and backstory. I prefer watching the DC version, and it's the version I have watched every time since.

I have not seen the director's cut, but I would be interested in that, being able to see further explanation of why the fort was abandoned, or to see other things tied up. I really enjoyed the film, after just finally getting around to it after all these years. When I was a kid, I think the length of it intimidated me.

Il miglior western dell'era moderna.

The best western of the modern era.

I'm torn. I'd have said the Extended Edition (i.e. the "Director's Cut") before I learned that Kevin Costner had nothing to do with it, but it has some really good stuff. I have both and can't seem to let go of either.
