Anyone find it a little off that Merida poisoning her mother isn't really depicted in a negative light? It seems more like it was depicted as an honest childish mistake, and even in that regard it's only depicted that way because the poison didn't work the way Merida wanted it too.
We can only assume that if the potion had worked as intended, then this would have even been considered a wrongful act at all.

Merida never seems to get the notion that it's not okay to poison your parents. The film never depicts this as a serious crime, just a mistake that was only negative because the potion didn't work the way Merida intended it too.
