And I absolutely love it! A wonderfully ominous tune that perfectly compliments this film. I can't think of a better build-up to what is probably the greatest impalement in movie history.

It certainly fits the movie perfectly. But I'm not going to be humming along to the mp3 in my car, that's for damn sure.
I find the Mamma Mia soundtrack even more disturbing.
Just thinking about Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth still gives me nightmares years later 😢
I never understood why Abba get such a stigma. I mean I get it, they're meaningless, empty pop and I'm certainly not saying they're Bob Dylan. But we're living in a world that has presented us with the likes of Boyzone, One Direction and Taylor Swift. When it comes to pop music I don't cringe when Abba come on the radio like I do with those aforementioned "artists". I see them as harmless, fun party music that evokes feelgood feelings and 70s vibes. I'm not gonna be putting any of their albums on any time soon but if this is what shit music was back in the 70s then I'm very envious of the 70s.

I consider myself a man of musical taste and I'd rather listen to Abba than Dylan.

I love Abba. Didn't realise there was any stigma as such against their music.
Oh, I hear it a lot. I assumed that was the point of your joke.
It was no joke - I absolutely loathed Mamma Mia but I do like Abba themselves.
You can jest and convey truth at the same time. I'm assuming you don't genuinely toss and turn at night in a cold sweat muttering "Please Mr. Brosnan, no, no. Please stop!" If you did then perhaps some counselling may be in order.
Although I must confess I have avoided allowing Mamma Mia to pass before my glazzies for fears of inducing similar trauma.
The baby's skeleton in the grave appalled me plenty. And it had a little hole in its skull, too (shudders).
Yep, that entire sequence was exquisitely shot. Graveyard at night. Branches like fingers reaching up from hell, silhouetted against the moonlight shining through the dank mist.
A man, searching for truth, coming to face the unthinkable...that little skeleton, his child, murdered to make way for the spawn of Satan...
This movie is horrific, and that particular song is perfect for it...but it was in no way intended to be entertaining or enjoyable - it's gut-wrenching.

I think counselling would be no bad thing after watching Brosnan and Firth prostitute themselves to post menopausal women in much the same way some "hot" teenagers who can't act are stuffed into films like Twilight say to get the younger crowds in. It was quite unnerving.

Lol, I've never heard it put quite that way before.

The soundtrack of Poltergeist 2 is reminiscent of the Omen, especially because of the chanting chorus.

Jerry Goldsmith's only Oscar and boy did he deserve it (and more)!

At certain times I probably would too. It would depend on the occasion.
