I just saw this movie and thought it was great. Robert Walker was al superb actor. Sad to hear he died shortly after this movie was released...

You may or may not know that his virtual look-alike son Robert Jr. made a bit of a name for himself too. He was Charlie X in the original series Star Trek episode of the same name, and he was in the sequel to The Blob in the early 70s (I believe it's called "Son of Blob" - not a great movie, but a cult classic.)

I loved this movie. No blood, swearing, sex etc You had to use your imagination. Not like movies of today which show everything. It was suspenseful and riveting.

This is in my top five Hitchcock films. The list goes: Psycho, The Birds, Strangers on a Train, Rope, The Man Who Knew Too Much (the 50s version.)

Count me in for this being a favourite Hitchcock film. Not only does so much that's gripping occur, but it's all handled with a lot of style and class.
It's nice to see Patricia Hitchcock in a substantial film role here. I've otherwise only ever seen her in some old Alfred Hitchcock Presents t.v. series episodes (plus in the Special Features extras on a DVD or two that I have). She did a very nice job in this movie.

Patricia was also in PSYCHO. Just a few minutes, but it did add to Marion's motives. Marion is jealous that plain "Patricia" managed to snag a husband, while Marion needs money to get her fiance out of debt before they can marry.
