She really is a very good actress. In recent years she has turned up in just about every prestigious British mini-series. Her best film role is in The House of Mirth (2000) - one of the best performances of the early 2000s, and one for which she was shamefully overlooked by the awards circuit. Also very good in Playing by Heart (1998).
Gillian Anderson is such a talented and beautiful actress. I wish we would see more of her in TV and movies.
She's been based in the U.K. for a good while now, so keep an eye out for her in some British movies and TV shows. Although she's been great in American series' HANNIBAL and AMERICAN GODS in recent times.
We are just watching her in the War and Peace (2016) mini series. Again a fantastic performance. Have to take a look at The House of Mirth (2000) - I haven't seen that one yet.
She's great! I was fortunate enough to have a chance to meet her when she was on location shooting an episode of the X-Files during its first season. During a break, she came over to where I was standing with a bunch of kids from our daycare. She said hi and the kids were all enamored standing in the presence of a TV star. The kids were asking her questions like, "Is that a real gun?", "Do you shoot people?", "Are there real bullets in that gun?" Gillian was very gracious and answered some questions. But after a time, she looked at me and her eyes got really big after getting bombarded with so many questions. I just said, "Okay, kids! It's time to let Ms. Anderson get back to work!" And the kids said, "Bye, Ms. Scully! We'll see you on TV!" She said, "I'll see you on TV!"
Gotta love an actor who can take some time to say hi to fans during a busy day.

I thought she was excellent as Miss Havisham in the 2011 British t.v. miniseries Great Expectations. Very talented actress, for sure.
I have yet to watch last year's War and Peace, though hope to catch it at some point.
