People love to use “humans make mistakes.” People are careful to use “humans snap.”

Maybe we should start promoting it’s wrong to cause pain of any kind, instead of avoid violence at all cost. Hitting isn’t the only way to hurt someone. Henry and Natalie are doing the forty-five degree standing. Is not meant to be intimate, because it has a barrier – the angle. You’re not facing each other. Is a way for, say, colleagues to exchange information in a casual, comfortable manner. You show interest by nodding and by looking regularly at the person you’re talking to.

Many people prefer the forty-five degree standing, because face-to-face aka the square standing is intimidating. There’s no barrier to make it clear that there’s no room for closeness and intimacy, either.

Having explained that, Henry and Natalie’s forty-five degree standing is intimate, because there’s no gap between them. Natalie could be touching Henry’s back. She could easily kiss his shoulder. Normal light PDA.

Henry and the brunette have their arms on the table. The table is taller and narrower than a normal table, because it’s meant to lean on and put the drinks on.

The brunette is the perfect height. Her reflection shows that her legs seem partially crossed (cross one foot (left) over the other (right) with the (left) heel tilted upwards), too. Probably to make it easier to lean on her left elbow. You cross your legs when you’re comfortable and sure that everything’s fine, because legs crossed makes it difficult to move quickly if something happens.

Henry is a giant. LOL He has to do more to lean on the table without looking like he’s leaning in on the brunette. His arms are crossed, too, because he can’t stretch them out without touching the brunette. He seems to have his right hand in a fist to not touch the drink. It looks like the drink is in the way. A fist can also mean anger, frustration, defense mechanism, repressed desire to react.

Henry’s head is tilted to the left. He’s not paying attention to Natalie. He seems to be listening to the brunette. Natalie doesn’t seem to be part of the conversation. She’s not looking at the brunette. It doesn’t look like she’s looking at Henry, either. Like I said, she seems to turn her face away from whoever is taking the picture.

Henry’s looking at the brunette and seems to be frowning a little. His lips are flattened (lips together, kept horizontal but squeezed flat). Tilting the head to the side shows that you’re interested in what you’re seeing or hearing. Frowning can mean anger, disapproval, confusion (or confusion with a little shock), deep concentration. Flattened lips indicates a repressed desire to speak.

So, Henry’s interested in what the brunette is saying. He disapproves, but doesn’t want to say anything. Or; the brunette told Henry something that made him remember something or think. He frowned (confused/little shocked/thinking), formed a fist (repressed desire to react), and flattened his lips because he was either waiting for the brunette to finish to say something or he was willing himself not to speak.

That’s my reading. I don’t know what you mean with teeth not showing. I see flattened lip and that’s not a smile. LOL Is also pointless to include the meaning of crossed arms, because that’s the best way to lean on the table. Bye!

Ezra Miller and Will Smith’s Treatment Reveals a Glaring Hollywood Double Standard

It took many public controversies for “The Flash” star Ezra Miller’s superhero future to be reevaluated—while Smith had a number of projects stalled immediately following The Slap.

While it’s likely that the backlash over The Slap will eventually fizzle out, the altercation has already had a larger impact on Smith’s career than actors and filmmakers who have routinely exhibited violent behavior outside of the televised ceremony—and have even been rewarded on that stage. In the last week, much has been made of Smith’s seemingly preemptive resignation from The Academy and ongoing probe by the Board of Governors while the organization has embraced men like Harvey Weinstein, Mel Gibson, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Russell Crowe, Casey Affleck and others who have been accused and/or convicted of sexual and non-sexual violence. Even in the case of Polanski’s recent expulsion from the Academy, it took an entire global movement of sexual assault survivors speaking out—and a number of other alleged victims coming forward—for the organization to distance themselves from the Polish director, who they warmly welcomed back to the awards show after evading his child rape conviction.

That’s why the public’s slow reaction to Miller’s behavior and Warner Bros.’ reluctance at completely pulling their upcoming projects, despite their public record of causing harm, are so maddening and reveal a double standard regarding how white and Black violence are viewed and policed in a racist society. Miller is allowed to be a ticking time bomb until their behavior becomes unignorable while Smith is automatically deemed a public threat who doesn’t deserve to work because he got into a public altercation with someone he has a personal conflict with.

The slap incident also illustrates how disposable Black entertainers (and people) are once they behave outside the lines of respectability the industry has drawn for them. Even if you’re reliably raking in as much money at the box office as Smith, your entire career can be placed in jeopardy after one foolish mistake.

Once again, with the Miller dilemma, Hollywood has made it clear that they’re far less concerned with how systemic violence actually operates and continues to spread within their industry than whether or not it will affect their bottom line.
