Colter reluctantly teams up with his nemesis, fellow reward seeker Billie Matalon, to track down a missing racehorse.

When a widower offers a reward to find his only daughter who disappeared three years ago and is presumed dead, Colter agrees to help track her down. After the missing girl's father shows Colter a newspaper photo from a recent county fair he's convinced is her, Colter's search leads him into the world of amateur ghost hunting and paranormal activity.

Colter is forced to team up with his estranged brother, Russell, who enlists his help to track down a former army buddy who's gone missing after several weeks of paranoid behavior. The investigation takes the brothers into the world of Special Forces missions, shady off-the-books programs and conspiracy theories, all while they contend with their family's past.

Colter investigates the disappearance of two amateur storm chasers that the local police have written off as an accidental drowning. Colter's expert tracking skills lead him to uncover the seedy underbelly of a small town resort.
