La filmación del episodio piloto de Pucks! comienza. Matt empieza a beber después de que pierde la custodia de sus hijos. Con un fotógrafo esperando tomar una foto de Matt conduciendo ebrio, Sean y Beverly va a recogerlo. Matt continues to fight with his ex-wife for custody of his children. Sean and Beverly are back together, but they soon discover that it's not so easy to heal old wounds. Meanwhile, Carol's ambitions at the network are dealt a cruel blow.

Matt's custody battle for his kids gets more difficult after he gets a DUI with them in the car. Sean struggles with the news that Beverly spent a night with ruggedly handsome Rob. Carol, once again, falls under the spell of her charismatic new boss.

Matt tries to solve his financial troubles; networks compete for Sean and Beverly's new show; Carol must make amends to a woman she scorned.

Sean's former writing partner turns up to wreak havoc. Matt and Carol find romance.

Matt and his ex-wife Diane get more than cozy and he contemplates re-marrying her. Meanwhile, Sean's old writing partner, Tim, tightens screws on Sean and Beverly putting their new show under question. And Carol finds herself in a completely new territory.

Matt leverages his newfound celebrity to get a new series guarantee from the network. Convinced that his best chance for success lies with Sean and Beverly, he tries to woo the reluctant Brits away from Tim. A large stuffed gorilla is involved. After weeks curled up on the sofa, Carol hits rock bottom - but finds solace in the most unlikely of places.
