Discuss Grantchester

I'm new to this show. While I didn't care for the 2019 season's first two hours (see the discussion thread with Subject line "No thanks"), I've been gradually, steadily getting to feeling on board with Grantchester, and Season 4, since then. At this point I appear to have become a regular viewer.

I'm creating this thread as the aforementioned one was created to express dissatisfaction with the 2-hours season premiere, while this present one is for continuing viewers to discuss the various weekly episodes and their developments. This thread picks up from where "No thanks" currently leaves off.

To anyone who may stumble upon this thread without having yet viewed S4's episodes, be ye warned that Spoilers follow.

Now that you mention it, considering some of Sidney's behaviors, I guess it IS surprising that he wasn't fired, or AT LEAST ostracized by some of his parishioners, especially since Grantchester's a small town. Yet he was beloved by the otherwise judgemental and censorious Mrs. C. Go figure.

Unless he was with Amanda, Mrs. C did not like Amanda.

I like Mrs. C. She's got spirit!

Btw, brat, how did you like Mrs. C's role in Hobbs' downfall?

I wasn't too fond of it. As I said before I wanted Cathy to handle it herself, although that wasn't a reality back then. But I thought that Mrs. C's role was a bit hypocritical. She didn't want to take advantage of Chapman's wealth but she used it to get Hobbs fired. Don't get me wrong, I hated Hobbs for taking advantage of the women workers just because he could! I'm a boomer (born in the early 50's) & can relate to Cathy's problem. But my sister's mother taught me to be strong & stand up to 'injustice'. I worked in many bars & restaurants in my early working days & was what people called 'sexually harassed', but I always told them that I wasn't interested & to stop what they were doing. Most men will stop when you stand up & say no! But of course, there are always the exceptions.

Yikes: I just realized I didn't respond to your post (above), brat. hushed

Thanks for your recollections and good comments.

I wonder where the story may go from where things left off, and if Hobbs will turn back up in some sort of nasty capacity, either dead (and Cathy a suspect, such as merry interestingly suggested), or perhaps out for revenge against Cathy and/or Mrs. C.
