Just rewatched "Neutral zone", the back story is where Data finds 3 people frozen from the 20th century in a passing space moduel. One of them is a rich buisness excutive. Picard tells him mankind no longer cares about money and aquiring material goods. The rich man ays it was never about money but controlling ones life. Picard says that is a ilusion. Rich man says "Is it? I'm here aren't I" This whole scene is cut out. Why? because its pro Capitalism. I have noticed other censored scenes from the BBC. anything that may be right of center is cut out. Truly censorship is insidious.

That's pretty ridiculous. I'd heard that in the past, they censored an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer where Giles had to hot-wire his own car to escape from vampire attackers, because it "portrayed criminal activity." What rot. But censoring pro-capitalism is even worse.

I thought the only thing the BBC censored was a remark about the Northern Irish Rebellion of 20 something as an example where terrorism worked.

Lots of censorship of Star Trek over the years in many countries but the OP made that one up.

They cut out a line about a united Ireland but I think that was only on its first broadcast.

Considering that the whole Brexit thing is causing quite a stir in Northern Ireland (since the majority there wants to stay within the EU and they don't want any border between them and Ireland) that line might become prophetic.
