Judging by the first episode, 1 season.

I'm intrigued!! I would love to be able to say out loud the first thing that comes to my mind. That could make for some good and funny content.

I've been curious about whether this series will be good, but missed last night's debut. How many stars (on a 10 stars rating scale) would each of you who watched it give it?

Initially, I would give it a 7/10 mostly because his back story really intrigued me and was very touching. I will need to watch a second episode to know for sure if I will continue to watch it.

Mainly tuned in because I enjoyed Freddie so much in Bates Motel. The premiere was somewhat promising -- I too find his back story interesting, and I hope they explore his life beyond the hospital, like how he navigates living in a big city. One downside is I found most of the supporting cast either bland or unlikable.

Tuffysmom, I couldn't agree more. Something about the fellow "doctors" (other than Dr Glassman) fell flat. It felt like watching a reality show.

Freddie's reaction to real life (adult) situations should make the subject matter a little lighter and comical. Im not familiar with his work, but he seems to play this role quite well.

"Why were you rude to me when we first met, then nicer to me he second time we met, and now you want to be my friend. Which time was it that you were pretending ?" One of the best lines in a TV series that I have heard in a long time. If the writing continues to be that good I'll continue to watch.

I actually really enjoyed it! It was a little choppy because it was jumping around to a lot of different characters, but I think it will settle down in future episodes. It appears that critics are not fans, so the show might be doomed already.

I love LOVED how everyone was not a fan of him, even after he saved the boy. In so many shows, someone does something brilliant and everyone bends over backward to praise the person.

But, as with most shows I enjoy, this one will probably be cancelled. I say it will last 13 eps, though I really hope I am wrong!

CRICKETS..... I enjoyed that line. How do you respond to that???? I feel like he may develop a crush on her and get his little heart broken.

How often are the critics right though? I haven't followed them too closely for other shows previously. Although I read for movies for their possible take or insight on them. It's 1 episode so far, and there have been other series that have probably beaten the odds. Is "80% of new shows get cancelled" a real statistic I read from an article, versus a made-up one? I guess it is with what shows I did not see return such as Grandfathered, and Conviction, although The Good Place came back and I think originally it was not going to be renewed.

Although, if the network gets a good return on the money invested into the series and a strong enough viewership so they sell the space for commercials at a good price, won't they just continue in 13-episode increments? I guess I'm being hopeful, and I'll support the show with viewership as much as I can. Anyhow, I hope the series does at least 20 episodes, although it's hard to tell how the series will go beyond finishing his residency and being a licensed surgeon. That's 4 years from now, unless the show accelerates it somehow, or even somehow slows it. Although just to note, there is the disagreeing with chief of staff and surgery previewed for the next episode, for the challenges. Anyhow, I'll enjoy the ride. :)

I'll contribute. I was excited, then even more excited, then it got a bit cringy but still good, after that a bit flat, then some romance and suddenly the show had checked all the boxes of a classic prime time special. I don't know if they fit the same criteria in the US as they do in Sweden but yeah. Everything from misogyny to cool heavy metal t-shirts. Now I'm a bit bored to be honest, it's like they're trying to make Shaun learn about life and teach us viewers important life lessons at the same time. Me for one am tired of getting the same thing shoved down my throat over and over again. Maybe some people never learn but I did a long time ago.

I prefer The Resident. Higher tempo, a lot more edge and it's got Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp. Great show.
